More of the same...

More of the same last week, SPF dimension was quiet while OSB and SYP dimensional items were strong. Most items in those two product categories posted double digit gains. The biggest concern with this market is, the number of buyers that need to cover projects that are already sold. Mill level contacts are giving everyone quite the level of concern. Almost everyone in the business is working from a weak inventory position. Lumber dealers, reloads, distributors, brokers and export traders, all have needs to fill in the coming weeks and the mills know this. It has been years since the market has seen such demand. At some point, the needs will get filled but for now demand outpaces supply.
