Market Update - More Upward Movement

It was a repeat of the prior week for the most part. Western SPF 2x4 dimension had another solid week of sales. Demand for studs remained strong and 2x12 Southern Pine was hard to find and had double digit gains. The panel market was quiet again with little to no change in prices for the week. Many buyers who were on the sidelines, threw in the towel and covered some needs. The bull run continued in Lumber Futures with the March contract expiring strong on Friday at a discount to cash.

Demand for building materials remains very strong, with the best consuming months ahead of us. Expect higher prices and supply shortages as we approach the building season.​
