Contract Lumber is excited to announce that we will be opening a new operation in Statesville, North Carolina in the first quarter of 2014. The purchase of the 34 acre site was finalized in December and is part of our Southeastern U.S. growth initiative. The site includes a 150,000 square foot plant that will house lumber distribution services as well as component manufacturing activities. Additional facility features include a rail spur and covered lumber storage capacity. The company plans to expand our builder and General Contractor service to the Winston-Salem, Greensboro, High Point area as well as the Asheville and Raleigh, NC markets out of the Statesville location, located 40 miles north of our current Charlotte yard.

The addition of the Statesville facility brings the number of Contract Lumber operations to twelve with five in central Ohio, and locations in Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Charlotte, and Atlanta. We first expanded into the South with a Charlotte operation in 2005 and added a branch in Atlanta in 2007 when we acquired Case Engineered Wood in Flowery Branch, GA. “We are extremely excited with the growth trajectory of the entire company,” shares company president, Rick Hiegel. “We have a wonderful track record of providing cost-effective solutions to our customer partners by leveraging the tremendous experience and dedication of our associates, many who have been with us for decades. I am confident that we will continue to create that same competitive advantage throughout our locations in the South as builders look to maximize their efficiency and reduce their risk with partners they can trust.”
